We would appreciate if you give us credit, but it’s not required. Also, we would like to showcase any project on our InqPortal Projects page. Use the Contact Us page, leave your return contact information and we’ll contact you to reference your project.
InqPortal Privacy
Unlike many smart device’s software these days, the InqPortal library does not send data or contact any Internet addresses. It does not phone-home. It does not take usage data. It does not rely on or call any Cloud services. There is one exception to this statement. The Admin has a Help item in the menu and you may notice a help cursor to give context sensitive help that does send you to this website and help pages on it. This is completely consistent with the way the Arduino Reference menu item works. We obviously do this to aide any users of InqPortal and their end-user customers. We do not embed that help in the library simply because it takes too much room on the tiny ESP8266. It also allows us to easily update the on-line help based on feedback. Now… with that said, the ESP8266 device is an Internet aware device and anyone using the InqPortal library could easily add such functionality. We are not responsible for the actions of people using the InqPortal library in their projects.

- InqPortal contains a copy of chart.js. We use this to show the Admin’s Histogram. It also is accessible so that anyone creating webpages needing some form of graph or chart. We embed it because we need to handle the case where an InqPortal server may not have access to the Internet to download the public facing files. Please see their site for details of using this JavaScript library.
